First of all let me tell you, I made both lemon chicken and potato chicken on the same day for family lunch. And it happened many months back! Although I took photographs of each step I really didn’t think I would upload them on my Blog site one day.
But then I thought why not? These are very easy and super quick recipes which will save lot of time of people like me who struggle to find more time in the kitchen 😛
Lemon chicken is little bit different than many other conventional chicken recipes as it tastes sour (I compensated it by adding more black pepper 😀 ). Potato chicken is the quickest of all chicken recipes I have tried so far. And actually when I have less time to cook I cook Potato chicken 😀
- Lemon Chicken Recipe
STEP 1: Extract juice from the lemon. I used 1 ig juicy lemon.
STEP 2: I prefer using whole spices in my recipes rather than powdered spice packets available in the market all the time. Whole cardamom (4-5 nos.), cinnamon (1 medium size piece), lack pepper (12-15 nos.), clove (4-5nos.) are smashed roughly on mixer grinder. These are added to lemon juice alongwith chicken pieces (300gm). I added more black pepper in this chicken recipe as it gives hot-sour taste.
STEP 3: Add sour curd 2 tablespoon. In eastern region of India people prefer sweet curd for consumption; for this recipe use sour curd 🙂
STEP 4: Add salt (2 teaspoon). Now mix all the ingredients well. Keep them aside for 10 minutes.
STEP 5: Now add jeera-dhania powder (2 teaspoon). I used home made jeera-dhania powder mixture. Mix all the ingredients again and keep the bowl aside for 20 minutes for good marination.
STEP 6: Heat the pan. Add one tablespoon of butter.
STEP 7: Add 3 green chilies (split), 3 garlic cloves and a bay leaf. You can add few chilies more if you wish.
STEP 8: Add marinated chicken. Cook in low flame for 20 minutes. Check the chicken and add water as required. If required cook longer. And your Lemon Chicken will be ready to serve with rice or polao
