“Stay at home!” This is the time when experts advise us to stay indoors to keep us safe. But how can we stay fit indoors? In this blog I am going to share five methods through which you can stay fit and fine:
Climb the stairs
Stairs are great when it comes to burning calories. Fix a daily limit for the number of ups and downs. I have been doing this for past couple of weeks and feeling fresh in the morning!
Yoga and meditation
Yoga and meditation are thousands years old techniques for healthy mind and body. When we are bound to do anything irrespective of our wish sometimes our mind ribels. To pacify our mind meditation is the best practice. Reduced mental stress leads to better physical health.
Gardening
Gardening helps us to refresh our mind. It is an indirect physical exercise. We may not burn huge amount of calories all the time through gardening but we feel happy after we nurish the plants. Those who don’t have enough space at home can grow indoor plants or short outdoor plants in pots at home. Make use of your terrace (if you have) through beautifying it. Learning the art of “bonsai” will add an extra skill to your credit!
Play with babies
If you have a baby at home running behind him or her will be enough for your physical exercise part. I have a baby of 9 months. He just loves to make the places untidy….throws the metal utensils to hear the “cring” sound. Sometimes when I see fragile item in his hand I have to shout “Noooo…..” and run after him to save the things from getting broken! So you see! baby keeps you busy!
Do your “homework“
Last but not the least do your household chores by yourself. May be previously you used to dine outside regularly. Why don’t you try simple recipes at home now? Handwashing of clothes, floor mopping (if your floor is of tiles/marbles), sorting and keeping things for eg. clothes, books, utensils etc. in order will not only help in physical fitness but will give you satisfaction as well.
